Solo Exhibition LABOUR Opens at Delaroke Art Gallery, Port-Harcourt.

On the 25th of July 2026, I opened my first solo photography exhibition, LABOUR, at The Delaroke Art Gallery, 17B William Jumbo Close, Old GRA, Port Harcourt. It will run through to the 1st of August 2026, curated by Primrose Ochuba-Adekemi.

I have shown work in group exhibitions, been featured in publications I once only read, But nothing prepares you for the moment your own work fills a room for the first time, on your own terms, under your own name.

Over hundred people registered for this exhibition. That number meant something to me before the doors opened. What meant more was watching people stand in front of the photographs and stay there.

As part of the opening, I held an artist conversation, speaking about the work, the ideas behind it, the process and the journey that led to that room. It was one of the most honest conversations I have had about my practice in public.

I am grateful to Mr Ozuruoke Ake and the management of Delaroke Art Gallery for their support, to my curator Primrose Ochuba-Adekemi for guiding this into existence, and to everyone who showed up.
