Selected for the Researching Heritage Workshop 2026
I’m pleased to share that I have been selected to participate in Researching Past, Present & Future: An Introduction to Research Methodologies for Emerging Fieldwork Researchers, organised by the Anyen Iyak Foundation for Art & Culture in collaboration with IFRA-Nigeria.
The five day virtual workshop, taking place from 7–11 September 2026, explores qualitative research, observation, private archives, oral history and community-centred approaches to cultural research. The programme also includes two days of fieldwork and project development, followed by a presentation of findings.
As a photographer whose practice often engages with people, memory, labour, environment and everyday life, I’m looking forward to strengthening the research methods that sit behind how I approach and document communities and cultural experiences.
This opportunity feels especially relevant to the direction of my practice and my continued interest in using photography as a way of preserving stories, lived experiences and cultural memory.
