Artist Room Residency with CISTA ARTS

I’m pleased to have begun a four-week Artist Room Residency with CISTA ARTS, running from 22 September to 22 October 2026.

During the residency, I will be developing my ongoing photographic project, The Right to Rest, which explores how people experience rest within lives shaped by work, responsibility and economic pressure.

The residency will support the project through research, photographic experimentation, weekly curatorial exchanges and a live discussion with CISTA ARTS. I enter the programme with early field research already underway, including recorded conversations with working people in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll continue exploring how these experiences can be translated photographically, allowing the research to shape the visual direction of the work.

The Right to Rest continues my wider photographic investigation into labour, livelihood, aspiration and the conditions that shape everyday life.
